First thing first, I don't know anything about the internet, coding, website construction, protocols and all other kind of magic that make my phone help my brain go "bzzzzz" while I eat my breakfast. So, learning curve here.

I'm also NOT known to have a great sense ok taste, lisibility or accessibility when it comes to blog making. Skyblog era was a very colorful time.

So I started with my "about" page, and I opted for a canvas because it looked simple enough to compose something esthetically pleasing on it.

Well, it looked pretty in the preview...

But on the actual website, a lot of the pictures, text blocks and other dividers moved around. My spouse took sometime to do their magic on the page (look at the code) and discovered the source of most of the problems. A lot of the displaced images were some on which I used the rotation tool,so I took the time to spin them on the right angle in affinity and re-upload them at the right place. Now they stay put, except for my vertical divider, who like to migrate a few pixels on the right.

Some of my text blocks were also moving left when upgraded. We tryed and tested, and found out than it was all single ligne, where the size of "the block" was bigger than the size of the actual text. With my text aligned to the right, the left side of the block box was faraway from the lettres and they got automatically smashed to the left side of the resized box, pushing them away from the right side of my canvas. So it was simply a question of resizing the block box to match the length of the actual text, and now it's fixed.

A lot of my tiny buttons with external links were... Not really user friendly. The first problem was a designer issue, I didn't make them look clickable enough, the second was a kind of a strange button mix up. The problem was that a big part of my upper page looked clickable, the cursor made the little "👆" that signal a possible interaction on a very large portion were noting was supposed to be. And, annoyingly, the cursor returned to it's unclickable form while hoovering over the intended buttons. We discoverd (well, they did, I looked) that every image was considered a button by the website, and that some of my quirky scribblee and banner transparent background were passing over the button, obscuring them.

I found a solution by making the intended buttons the very top layer of the canvas, over the images. It works but I have to keep that in mind while planning my design, since I wanted some of my scribbles to overlap them.

Overall I find the blocks very difficult to select, move, resize and most of all, find the trashbin icon for delete them. I realy wished there was a drag and drop trashbin on the side and some extra space to put the blocks aside while reorganizing.

I find it easier to use on phone than on pc.

But hey, first day, first page.

Now I discovered that you can add canvas in text post, so I'll try that.
